While it may be only the east side of my home country significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, this does not detract from the effect it has had on the world so far, nor the devastation to the world's economy. We westsiders are already worrying, as well.

But we are by no means finished yet, especially not in the art trade! It works online just fine, and now that I've been laid off Rev temporarily, as well as the Laundromat duty, I must encourage youse to request some commissions from your friendly neighbourhood artists that are taking them. If you are yourself in a lot of financial trouble, then don't worry about it; don't put yourself in any greater danger than you feel you can handle. You do not have to, and in fact should not, ask for art that you feel you cannot afford.

As well, make sure you have enough soap in stock. If you can't find soap nearby, or it's all gone at the supermarkets, don't fret; just mix up some lard with caustic soda, and that will make you your soap. If you do find soap at your local market, don't panic-buy large quantities; in fact, limits are already being imposed to curb the panic.

For a full-detailed, effective soap recipe, check out this page I've found on the fly. I recommend you stock up on store-bought soap, even if you have the patience, resourcefulness, and know-how to make your own soap.

We're screwed.

Well, my hometown has recently been hit by the coronavirus. As a result, we now have a new policy at our workplace, that we must thoroughly wash our hands every so often, for instance, before handling unwashed laundry. People have actually been panic-buying toilet paper, even within my very suburb of residence.

Two of my coworkers have worn filter masks, afraid of any infection, but probably unaware that it won't offer adequate protection if an outbreak should reach the laundromat.

Luckily, I have a few backup plans. I'll be able, and may even need, to take more commission requests, should the workplace shut down temporarily, or be condemned, though it is more likely that, being a business, it will make use of other ways to continue running. I'll keep you posted.

With Labour Day coming up tomorrow, i'll have more time to draw up some weird and wonderful works of your choosing. I'll do these ones for free, ordered from today to one week hence.

My rules for this are the same as for paid commissions (refer to my page for more information).

There is no need to be very specific with your request, not even to choose a specific medium; just give me one simple idea and i'll see what i can do.

I DID IT!!!

I finally got into the Rev online transcription team! Wish me luck, folks; it's gonna be a demanding career ahead!

So, who or what is Rev, you may be wondering? The company is a decentralised, online network of professional transcriptionists and translators reputed for the highest quality work. The url for the site is conveniently simple, too!

I had been chasing a job involving typing, be it data entry, writing, or transcription, for months, and now I'm glad to finally have it. The more work I do, the faster I'll be able to type, and I could even compete with some of my newest friends, not that I even mean to boast!

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I now also work as commercial laundry crew, at the moment, simply filling in for a current crewman who's going on holiday. As a result, expect me to have even less time available for commissions, and even art projects of my own. In fact, I will now be imposing a limit of three commissions a month.

I have to travel even farther to this job, than I did for IGA or the Wembley flyer runs. So I'm hoping that it gives good enough pay to cover my travel costs. It's also a good source of experience should I decide to run my own freelance laundry service. I need all the work I can get, if I am to beat the pension.
